On April 15, 1926, Charles Lindbergh, Robertson Aircraft Corporation's chief pilot flew a bag of mail in a DH-4 biplane from Chicago to St. Louis. This flight is regarded as the first regularly scheduled flight of what was to become American Airlines. Today we fly our passengers to over 260 destinations in 50 countries with, on average, more than 3,300 daily flights. The combined network aircraft numbers more than 900 fleets. With almost 85 years experience behind us, we deliver around 94 million customers to their destinations each year. To learn more about American Airlines' history, click here*
